Expert Strategies

The Krush

(Knight RUSH)

Overview

This strategy is the basis for a good early attack on any map where your enemy is on the same piece of land as you.

The Object is to get to castle age at about 16 minutes and then send in knights to kill enemy villagers before they get to castle age, thereby giving you a castle age advantage over your opponent and put him on the early "back foot"

One of the best things about this strat is that it can be adapted very easily to whatever your opponent is doing.

Build Order

Villager number
first 6 Sheep
7 - 10 Berries
11 Build House - Wood
12 Wood
13 Lure Boar (Take off shepherds and put on boar)
14 Sheep
15 Sheep
16 Wood Get loom if you dont have enough food to train villagers
17 Build House - Wood
18 Wood
19 Wood
20 Berries
21 Build house - Berries
22 Berries
23-24 Wood or Berries - which ever you need more of
UPGRADE FEUDAL With 25 population total
Send scout to find opponent
Build Barracks
AT FEUDAL AGE
Immediately Build Market and Blacksmith

Market first - with as many villagers as you can spare

Get loom if you dont already have it
Trade 200 Stone for Gold in market Check resources, if you short of food / wood / move villagers
If you dont have enough food for Castle, get hunters to drop off food at mill.
UPGRADE CASTLE AGE (Still 25 population)
Send two forward villagers and build a stables When Boars run out go shore fishing or deer hunting, build a mill nearby
Build Mining Camp When sheep run out, move villagers to wood.
Switch 5 villagers to gold, probably from berries Don't get Farms yet - you dont have the wood!
Build a second stables near enemy town
Build a house (or 2 if you can)
CASTLE AGE (16:10)
Immediately train knights in both stables, preferably 2
Send two to hit enemy wood choppers and two to hit gold miners at the same time.
At home train villagers and put them on wood
Build a TC near opponents town near to gold if possible.

You now have an advantage over your opponent.

If you come up against pike or spearmen, then run your knights away and build a monastory near to your forward TC. Shelter knights there and heal them with a couple of monks. You will regret losing them, as you will be short of food if you have to train more.

The idea of this strat is to keep sending in the 4 or 5 healed knights again and again frustrating your opponent and slowing them down as they have to hide villagers in the TC. Meanwhile back at base, build TC's a quick as you can and farms, get a strong economy and go imperial as soon as you can.

Finish off your opponent with trebs backed up with knights, pikes or Swordsmen.
