Mighty MysticsTeam Game Strategy HintsBy Mystic Briton |
When playing another clan, it is important to ensure you have the edge over the opponent. Its not so important when the opposition is weak, but if you are always strong, there will be no surprises.
Read these strategy tips and be one step ahead of your opponent, even if they have greater individual skill, if you work as a team, you can ultimately win, and thats what Mighty Mystics is all about!
| 1. Match Chief command your soldiers! | The person who is highest in rank is the match chief, if two hold same rank then if one is a trustee, he has the job of match chief. If not, then a match cheif should be nominated at the start and that person must communicate with the team and organise them properly. | |
| 2. Know thine enemy | If you have never heard of the clan you are playing, ask the others, ask a leader if one is online, or another trustee, try to find out about who you are playing before the match launches, otherwise you may not have the right skill of players to ensure a victory. | |
| 3. Formulate an early plan | Talk to each other while you are in dark age about what team strategy you are going to use, often its best to combine forces, 2v1 someone, or one of you go for fast imperial while another flushes, whatever happens, its ultimately the match chief who decides the plan. | |
| 4, Communicate, communicate and communicate |
The 3 golden rules of team play. Don't say stupid things, don't keep pressing alert when you are fighting someone, or see someone. Do alert if you are in trouble, but also explain what the alert means. Don't alert with no explaination. Alert and then type "3 knights needed here if anyone has any" or "Castle building in my town - anyone have a treb?" Perhaps you have 4000 wood and only 300 gold but want to get to imperial urgently. Message "I have wood if anyone needs it - anyone have 500 spare gold?" This message may often get ignored if people are in trouble, but often someone has too much gold and needs wood to build more Tc's so this way the whole team can benefit. |
|
| 5. If you are in trouble tell the team EARLY | Try and predict if you are going to be in trouble. For example, if you are in feudal age and someone is building a castle in your town, its obvious that you will lose your town within 10 minutes, therefore ask anyone if they can build a castle in your town. This will protect your town from the mangonels. Also you could build towers, but may not have the stone, ask if anyone has stone for towers. Do not tell people you are in trouble when its too late for them to help, but do ask them if they know of anywhere for you to escape to, they may have just destroyed an enemy town and you could build up there. | |
| 6. Get Cartography early |
If often seems like a waste of resources, but if possible get cartography while upgrading to castle age, as it costs 100 Food and 100 Gold, this is dirt cheap considering you could send 4 forward villagers to build up and lose them as you walk into an enemy castle which you had not seen due to cartography. This mistake alone would cost you 200 Food and a lot of wasted time at a cruicial stage of the game. Your enemies may be in trouble and will alert where this is. If you don't have cartography you cannot see what kind of trouble he is in, nor what you can do about it! |
|
| 7. Get trade carts if gold runs low | No doubt about it, the quickest way to get gold in is mining it, however, when those gold piles start to wear out. Click on your market then right click on your nearest teammates market and train lots of trade carts. You will be surprised how much quicker the gold comes in now compared to Age of Kings. I also find that caravan brings the gold in quickly too. | |
| 8. Never give up until the chief says so | You may have lost your town, you may have lost 2 towns, you may still be in the dark age, but if you have one, just one villager, then you can re-build, your partners may be doing well, one of the opposition may drop, so always stay in. Ask your teammates for wood and gold or any other resources you may need to rebuild - providing that they have heaps of it. | |
| 9. Resign as a team | If you have lost, the honourable thing to do is to resign as a team all at the same time. If you stay fighting alone against 3 opponents, it may show good courage, but it doesnt reflect good on the team, so resign when your chief tells you to. | |
| 10 Alert team members to possible future problems | If you see someone with 6 stables and about 30 paladins standing next to them, tell your teammates, don't just alert. Say "Look lots of Paladins - watch out!" and then alert. Then the person nearby will be prepared for what may be a devastating attack. | |
