2004ConsolidationThis year, was the first year that we really had a split in the clan. Half of our members playing Age of Mythology, while the other half played Warcraft III The Frozen Throne. So the Ruling Body decided to change the name from Mighty Mystics Clan to The Mighty Mystics Online Gaming Community. This was also more appropraite as we had so many members from older games who would just come along to chat on our forums, rather than meeting us online for games. Our web site became the hub of our activity and we started to re-recruit members who had left before after the clan they had moved to had split up. We also offered all our trustees their own email address @Mysticteam.com! This year we tried out a few new games like Empires, Dawn of the modern world (EE2), Savage, Rise of Nations, Gunbound and started using XFire as a chat interface. The calibre of our members also increased somewhat quickly. With each member now voting on the suitability of each recruit, we found that only the very best candidates were being recruited and very few left us once they managed to get in. I did a major revamp of our web site in September with help from Mystic Ghost, Mystic Korean and Mystic 4ever with the graphics. It was the first re-vamp for over 12 months, so it was looking a bit tired before! This new revamp allowed our members to post front page news items by just posting a new topic in our special news forum. This added simplicity meant more news items! This year our web site was made search engine friendly, to increase our popularity among the search engines and therefore increase the number of visitors for the future. In the Autumn we developed a new scheme of having temporary ruling body members. The first two were Mystic Catboy and Mystic Galad. They stay for 6 months to see how the RB operates and are then replaced every 6 months with a new pair of suitable trustees.
