Mystic Briton (Vikings) and Mystic Turk (Persians) Vs Myll Piemaster (Britons) and Myll Slaghter (Britons) |
This game makes a hatrick of 2v2 wins for the Mystics against the Mylls in one weekend! Normally we would not include this game here, but it does demonstrate the way that control of land can make such a difference in these team games. From the very beginning you can see that this is a four island map with a large island in the middle joined by bridges, and its this land in the middle which is so hotly contested here. Turk goes early castle age and kills Slaghters main TC and expansion, but he gets his skin saved by Piemaster, once he gets to imperial age 2 minutes before anyone else. A massive onslaught follows between Briton and Piemaster and Briton soon finds 2 castles and a TC in his town from a sneaky transport sent over by Piemaster. This is swiftly dealt with by the great man, but it does slow his assault on the Mylls as he lost quite a lot of food production. Briton decides to attack through the "back door" and does roughly the same damage to Piemasters town as he had, had done to his, but meanwhile Slaghter had launched a joint offensive against Turk and Piemaster was in his town with TCs, trebs and Champions. The great man adjusted his attack again, saving his units for an awesome onslaught which leaves the Piemaster and Slaghter crippled. With Turks boats killing their buildings and Britons Champions, Skirmishers and Trebs killing Piemasters town, the Mylls give in and say gg. |

Mystic Japanese (Britons) and Mystic Mongol (Vikings) Vs Myll_Slaghter (Vikings) and Myll_Moonwalker (Franks) |
Here Jap and Mongol play against slaghter and his new recuit Moonwalker. Moonwalker makes the first mistake by not fishing, but still manages to reach castle age before all the others, however his population lets him down in the end as he doesnt have the military capacity to fight off Japanese's determined drive forward. Mongol finishes off Slaghters shipping which sets him back somewhat, but slaghter manages to boom well in castle age. Unfortunately for him, Mongol is just too strong and fights his way accross the bridge into slaghters' town with relative ease. After that its slaughter! |

Mystic Teuton (Vikings) and Mystic Japanese (Britons) Vs Myll Piemaster (Britons) and Myll The Great (Vikings) |
Two of the best Myll players here get a strict lesson of Mystic power, whether it teaches them anything remains to be seen. Teuton walls in and gets a transport accross to Myll the Great's town. He builds Castle, TC and other military buildings there which proves to be a major probelm for Myll the Great. Plus wiping out his entire fishing fleet really does dig the knife into the great's chest. Meanwhile Piemaster, failing to find any decent fishing nearby, decides to build a dock on Japanese's island with a fishing boat! (On the Mylls web site this is down as cheating - but us Mystics do not fear such tactics) Japanese begins to build an attack on Piemaster but gets beaten back to his town, but launches an awesome defense of his town refusing to give way. This is worth watching for the admirable way the great Japanese beats back the Piemaster using mainly elite skirmishers. After this charge, Piemaster has no answer and Myll the Great is as good as dead, so they resign defeated.

Mystic Briton (Vikings), Mysstic_Hun (Franks), Mystic Japanese (Britons) and Mystic Chinaman (Vikings) Vs Myll The Great (Britons), Myll Slaghter (Vikings), Myll Destroyer (Franks) and Myll Nobel (Britons) |
The one is a grudge match, featuring the elite of the Mystic Clan Vs a very strong Myll Clan. It demonstrates very good teamwork on the side of the Mystics and also shows how important it is to stand your ground in a 4v4 game. Chinaman and Briton hold the flanks (sides) while Hun and Jap are in the middle for booming. Briton is short of food for his Krush strat and ends up having to take Myll Destroyers Boar to supplement his food supply, this however delays his normal 16 minute knight attack to 19.xx minutes. This gives Myll Destroyer the chance to feudal rush him and starts to tower in the great man as he begins to castle. Chinman meanwhile marches onward to Myll the Great town and builds TC and Castle in it, causing him a lot of trouble, indeed he makes good progress until Myll the Great is assisted by Slaughter and Nobel in Imperial age. Together they knock Back Mystic Chinaman with trebs and longbowmen to which he has no reply. This is where the Mighty Mystics showed their pedigree. Mystic Hun was ordered to the front line by the great man to kill off the Myll charge with her Paladins and Trebs. This saves chinaman and means he can stand his ground once again. Meanwhile Briton has gone to imperial early and gets 700 stone from Japanese so he can build a castle. He starts to smash back Destroyer back into his own town with Trebs and some help from Mystic Huns cavalry. Once the great man start marching he keeps marching and theres no stopping him as he walks through destroyer like a hot knife through butter. Japanese has expanded up the middle of the map and starts to hit nobel, after that he does some real damage by killing Myll Slaughter with additional help from his 3 teammates. |

Mysstic Hun (Vikings), Mystic Turk (Britons) and Mystic Frank (Celts) VS Myll Piemaster (Britons), Myll The Great (Celts) and Myll Slaghter (Vikings) |
This one's a real cracker. A close match and all the players are good. Mystic Frank causes the first upset by getting to castle age a full two minutes before anyone else. He has a town centre, stables and seige workshop in Myll the Great's town before Myll the Great is up to castle age! Mystic frank takes out Myll the Greats entire town leaving him with a few villagers and not enough wood to build another town centre. His allies tribute him some wood and he starts again and build up admirably. Meanwhile Mysstic Hun and Mysstic Turk join forces to bash Myll Piemaster back and into submission. The match is really lost by now, the main problem being Myll slaghter having to fight in several different places at once to support his collegues, not being able to concentrate an offense due to the relentless pushing of Mystic Turk. |

Mystic Turk (Turks) and Mystic Saracen (Britons) Vs Hongkongpfui (Vikings) and KwCorey (Britons) |
Here's a good game sent in by the Mystic Saracen, here he plays with the Mystic Turk in a 2v2 Coastal. The Viking player is very good, so this is a fun game to watch. Well, the first thing to notice about this one is how Mystic Saracen and Hongkongpfui both go fishing, but the other two do not. This causes Mystic Turk to be very slow to castle age, indeed 28:47, compared to Mystic Saracen's 21:30, also at castle age Mystic Turk has about 30 villagers to Mystic Saracen's 47 (including boats). Mystic Turk attacks in feudal with a forward tower hitting the British gold miners, but the Brit hits back with his own tower and long swordsmen. Mystic Saracen delays his attack until castle age and builds a town centre in the viking town. Unfortunately for him, the Viking player kills all the villagers with knights and builds a palisade wall around the town centre. This is an interesting strat, as it does not stop the villagrs coming out, but it stops them getting back in again!! Well the Viking player hits back Mystic Saracen with battering rams and knights, but being British the Mystic Saracen builds plenty of town centres and keeps control. Meanwhile once Mystic Turk goes castle age, he hits the British play admirably, marching forward with Janissarries and Eventually Trebuchets, kicking him out of his town. Once the retreat was forced, only the Mystics could win this one. Mystic Saracen applies relentless pressure and eventually kills the Viking Castle with his own trebuchets, the opposition never got to imperial age. Well done guys! |

Mystic Briton (Britons), Queen Hun (Goths) and Voc_Mantis_IL (Japanese) Vs Master_Po (Vikings), ColdxKing (Chinese), TNEA_gonev (Vikings) and Casaxfox (Chinese) |
This is a very interesting game, we recommend you watch TNEA player (Purple) as he is a good player and has a very similar score to Mystic Briton right up to Castle age. Purple tries to wall-in Mystic Briton in feudal age by palisading the crossing. Mystic stops this by killing the villager, however he then finds a tower in his town built by purple. This game demonstrates the importance of good reconnaissance, as if purple has scouted better he would have built his buildings in a better place to give Mystic Briton more trouble. It also show how the best for of defence is attack. Purple goes castle age before Mystic Briton, but does not have the lumber to build a town centre in mystics' town right away, indeed not until the mystic himself goes castle does he have the lumber, however, immediately Mystic Briton builds several town centres, one in purples town and one in his own town near the tower to protect his centre. From this place on purple is finished, just watch how the Mighty Briton destroys him. Later Queen hun is in big trouble from Master po's Viking champions as they slice through her town and his treb kill her castles. Mystic Briton hits him hard in his home base by coming around the back door and kills several castles and town centres. Master po does get some compensation however, when he sends his champions into Mystic Britons town and causes quite a lot of destruction! However, the great man comes through with flying colours! |

Mystic Briton (Britons) and Voc_Mantis_IL (Turks) Vs HEC_Lanky (Persians), Orlik_pl (Turks), and Jojodio9 (Chinese) |
Mystic Briton plays Britons here and displays the merits of walling off your town to prevent enemy castle age attacks. Here the mighty Briton walls off the two river crossings with just palisade wall, but it stays there for the whole game and consequently the Mystic always has sufficient resources coming in. Mystic Briton builds town centres in enemy territory and this time adapts his strategy in line with his enemies as HEC_Lanky goes early imperial age, he therefore goes early imperial himself and attacks with trebs and longbowmen. He is knocked back after destroying the first opponent, but recovers wonderfully showing the power of massed pikemen. this game is a work of genius for sure. |

| 9 April 2000 | Coastal 3v4 | Mystic Briton and 2 others as Vikings, Persians and Teutons VS Turks, Turks, Chinese and Byzantines |
This game shows many good strategies employed by the Mystic Briton. He is up against a good player called Weery. Luckily Mystic is right next to him, so the good player is bashed down to size before he can become too much of a threat. Weery tries to wall off while researching castle age, but Mystic Briton has 4 villagers walk around and through a gap, unforuntealy the villagers are seen by weery, so Mystic's attempt to build the TC fails, but the great man shows his class here, he walks his villagers off in an adjacent direction so that weerys men follow them, takes not 1, not 2, but 14, yes FOURTEEN! men off wood and builds the town centre in a great place, just before weery can wall off (Only one wall segment to go!). This TC destroys weerys base, but he builds up and walls off well in other places, he builds in all four corners of the map, this is how you can see he is a good player. Unfortunately Mystic Briton is walking his TC's (town centres) around the map and marching forward with them. This kills off most of weerys towns until he has a Janissary attack from the other Turk player. Here Mystic shows how to deal with massed Janissaries. He fills his TC's will villagers and makes sure his range is upgraded, this tears down the Janissaries together with knights. Weery goes imperial just after Mystic Briton, but unfortunately doesnt have the resourses to cause the same impact. Note, until upgrading to castle, Mystic Briton has less than 5 military units! |
